How Our Training Sessions Are Run
Structure. Intensity. Purpose.
At Devine Movements, every session is built with one goal: to develop complete athletes. From start to finish, each workout follows a structured system that ensures every athlete improves with intention and confidence.
Dynamic Warmup
We begin every session with a dynamic warmup paired with stretches designed to activate the body and prepare for performance.
Athletes move 15–20 yards down and back through a series of movements focused on:
- −Active stretches for hips, hamstrings, and quads
- −Mobility drills to open up the ankles, knees, and hips
- −Core stability and balance control
- −Functional movement prep to prevent injury and boost explosiveness
Our warmup isn't just about getting loose—it's about getting ready to move with precision.
Ladder Work – Footwork & Activation
Once athletes are warm, we move to ladder work to get the feet firing and the blood flowing.
This portion of training emphasizes:
- ●Quick-twitch activation
- ●Controlled coordination and rhythm
- ●Light agility to engage the nervous system
- ●Short, intense movements to prime the body for speed drills
Footwork is everything—this step sets the tone for how athletes move for the rest of the session.
Drill Work – Applying Movement to the Game
After activation, athletes transition into the main drills of the day.
These are built around position-specific goals and vary each session, but always focus on:
- ●Explosiveness and controlled acceleration
- ●Route-running mechanics or change of direction
- ●Balance, body control, and reaction timing
- ●Real football movements that translate directly to game-day performance
